AUSWD is a concept proposed in Hanasaki et al. (2016) which is the area relying its industrial and domestic water abstraction on desalinated seawater. AUSWD is determined by three factors, namely, the distance from coastline, GDP per capita (SSP database, consistent with the data used in Hanasaki et al., 2016), and the aridity (the ratio of precipitation divided by potential evaporation). Using the input data of ISIMIP3, we presented binary AUSWD data (1 for utilizing, 0 for not) from 2015 to 2100 at 0.5 degrees with or without change of aridity, respectively. global -179.5 179.5 -89.5 89.5
