Abstract:

We present extreme event exposure data for crop failure, heatwave and wildfire measured in terms of affected area. The dataset contains simulations of historical climate conditions (1901-2015) but also SSP1-2.6, SSP3-7.0 and SSP5-8.5 scenarios (2015-2100) with a 0.5°x0.5° resolution. As a baseline it also contains simulations of pre-industrial climate conditions, labelled picontrol, that range from 1850 to 2100.

The data was derived from multi-model climate impacts simulations generated ISIMIP3a (Frieler et al. 2024) and ISIMIP3b (Frieler et al. 2025) simulation rounds of the Intersectoral Impact Model Intercomparison Project (ISIMIP, https://www.isimip.org).

It is used in Zantout et al. 2025 to investigate changing regularity pattern in extreme events under global warming.
